Neste episódio, ocorrido lá no Frai em algum tempo não muito distante, vemos com clareza a natureza sendo desafiada por um Tchô destemido e valente. Seu provável nome “Alcides” mas que atende por “Arcide”.
Atravessar o rio mansinho a todo custo pois a honra é a mãe de todas as conquistas…

Chuva forte no Frai com transbordamento do rio mansinho. O perigo era grande e a imprevisibilidade também. Poucos são os Fraiburguenses que já viram o “rio mansinho” tão agressivo como neste dia.
Graças as habilidades diplomáticas e agilidade linguísticas do autor do vídeo, uma vida Fraibuguense foi economizada e a lei de Darwin contrariada. Parabéns ao Marcos pelo sucesso na negociação e obrigado por compartilhar esse retrato visual típico do ser Fraiburguense e do sotaque Fraiburguês (pegou até os tradicionais “Curicacas”). Não temos dúvida de que se outro dialeto fosse usado, o desfecho da história seria outro. Talvez o Arcide não se acadelaria e teria que ser resgatado pelos bombeiros lá pra baixo. Vai saber…

The culture shock for anyone coming from Fraiburgo to the cost of Santa Catarina is huge and affects everyone including the birds that sing differently here:
Impossível passar pelo Frai sem notar as remanescentes e imponentes araucárias e suas fieis amigas cortejantes (hortências). O que me alegra é poder vê-las ainda ao vivo e das suas grimpas fazer um fogo de chão que estrala como pipoca para sapecar o pinhão.

Por muito pouco nossas araucárias não foram todas extintas. Em menos de 50 anos elas foram perseguidas e aniquiladas sistematicamente num tremendo holocausto vegetal sem precedentes na nossa história. Quanto maior fosse a tora, maior era o orgulho da ignorância do homem. A americana Southern Brazil Lumber & Colonization Company era como um polvo e seus tentáculos (trilhos) penetravam no continente sugando todas as árvores e recursos naturais que poderiam ser transportados nos vagões até os portos de SP e RJ. Onde estariam essas árvores hoje? Depois da limpeza no terreno, bastava expulsar os nativos da região e vender terrenos já loteados para os europeus famintos que, no Brasil, não paravam de chegar.

Because of the national impact of the hornet’s nest of Fraiburgo, the team of consultants from “Lá no Frai” conducted a deep insightful comparative analysis of this magnificent work. Therefore, the purpose of this post is to bring to the fore the results of a thorough analysis of the nest architecture in relation to traditional hornets nests built by non-fraiburguese wasps.
The analysis consists of a detailed study that observes the spatial organization, location, suitability, volumetric, architectural and economic aspects. Information was gathered by residents, photographic records, floor plan sketches, and newspaper ads 3d virtual reconstruction. Below, the results of version 1.2 of the report:

Once a stranger has learned and incorporated the Fraiburguese dialect in its own vocabulary, he/she will perceive the world in a different way, more comprehensive and accurate. By default, when a Fraibuguese person leaves the city he/she will eventually realize the lack of accuracy of other people speeches and this is perhaps one of the greatest competitive advantages they have. Moreover, as many expressions are extremely regionalized like theses, the Fraiburgueses people end up learning new expressions while are circulating in other cultural universes, hence increasing their overwhelming cultural-vocabular repertoires. The image below show objects which can be used the the verb “open”. There fore you can open a can, a company, a scream or a cut on any part of they body. The 2 last ones are terms very specific to the region in a rather funny way.
Guys, this is the most famous Fraiburguese person ever. Well, translating a joke is a real pain in the ass, but ok I accept the challenge. “Tchô” is the local word to an unknown person and sounds much like Chuck and the phrase says “the most famous Fraiburguese in the west of the universe” meaning Fraiburgo’s region in a broader sense.

Welcome to the second year of the “La no Frai” project, Fraiburgo a place to be discovered. This is a blog that seeks to define in two language what, how, why, when, where is Fraiburgo and its people, culture and stereotypes. Fraiburgo, which is not Nova Friburgo (RJ), Friburg (Switzerland), Freiburg (Germany), not even gaucho, has its own cultural existence which is based on the different ideas and hard work of different peoples that have left their contribution to shape the destiny of the city. Their live endeavours are the main source of expiration to this project which has received loads of contributions from the readers. On facebook I have made some changes, but what matters is that all material is located here. There is a chance to receive all e-mail notification of new posts by adding your e-mail on buttom “follow the blog” next. That’s it for now. Como muitos de vocês já devem saber, o Fraiburguense padrão ao invés de parar de fazer algo ele(a) geralmente “larga mão” de fazer algo. Nesse sentido, a cidade está largando mão do ano de 2011 ao mesmo tempo em que celebra o seu aniversário de 50 anos. Fazem algumas semanas que a prefeitura vem organizando uma série de eventos, mas infelizmente não pude estar presente. Mesmo assim, gostaria de fazer uma singela contribuição a cidade, não quero dizer “homenagem” porque aqui ela tem duplo sentido.

Fraiburgo is reaching its first 50 years as an official Brazilian municipality and we are very proud of it. This has been 50 years of constant changes and challenges. In the pictures below I am portraying a bit of one of the key city’s symbols. By the way, have you ever seen a monument to a grader? Yes, we do have a square dedicated for it, which is nice specially because it is not related to a war or anything like in many country and stepped in.
Well, not so long ago everything had to be started from the scratch up new roads to building the entire infrastructure to allow theses Brazilians to carry out their destiny. It seems they succeeded but at the same time new challenges lie a head and these are the questions I am asking to the people on the Portuguese text. For example, what will be the next symbol of development for the next 50 years? That is a question for the next generations.
Furthermore, congratulations to Fraiburgo and its people for everything that has been already created and I sincerely hope that the future holds beautiful things just like the city history, culture an way of life. Happy birthday Fraiburgo!
Primeiramente no seu sentido original, a palavra homenagem se refere a um agradecimento público em ato de gratidão por algum favor que fora prestado a alguém. Porém, aqui em Fraiburgo é sempre preciso tomar muito cuidado com o uso da expressão “fazer uma homenagem” porque ela pode ser facilmente entendida como “Fazer fiasco, cometer gafe, mandar mal, viajar na maionese, estragar alguma coisa e assim por diante” a pessoa que faz homenagem é chamada de fiasquenta e a que recebe “homenageada”.
Para ser pragmático vamos aos exemplos do sentido Fraiburguense.

Talvez essa seja a única patrola como monumento histórico no mundo, um símbolo de progresso através da abertura de ruas e estradas em um passado distante onde até a água encanada era uma objeto de desejo das famílias. Assim, seguem algumas perguntas deve respondidas pelas próximas gerações:
